Week 6~ DO NOW - Hurricane

How hurricanes are formed?

Hurricanes come from warm water, typically hurricanes are only formed in tropical regions. These warm waters then evaporate this is fuel for the hurricane.  Wind is also needed for a hurricane to form. Hurricanes not in tropical regions could be caused by wind blowing from a tropical region in the direction to another country. The warm water then starts to evaporate high in the air then begins to cool then condensed back to water droplets creating stormy clouds; the warm air keeps on rising upward the wind begins blowing in a circular way around a centre. The winds then gather some of the stormy clouds and the clouds spin around with the wind.

new information I didn't know..

- It is officially a hurricane when the wind speed reached 74mph

- The way we see the weather is weather satellites.

- The weather satellites check the earth every 10 minutes and 5 minutes in the USA.

- Hurricanes the are most popular is September.

-A hurricane belt is where the the places or islands most likely to get hit by hurricanes the most.

Why would this relate to what we are readying? (The Cay)

-  This might relate to The Cay because the book is set around Curacao and Curacao never gets hit by hurricanes because this island is just out of the hurricane belt.
