Examples of interpersonal skills we have been using

In the activities we have been doing we have been using interpersonal skills to accomplish the game and make the game. Some of the skills we have been using are:

1.  verbal communication when we were doing the games

2. non-verbal communication when we were doing the hula-hoop game

3. active listening when we were learning the rules and listening to each other

4. being inclusive when we were doing the hula-hoop game to include everyone to get to the other end of the court

5. we negotiated and compromised to get the right way and plan during both games.

Shark infested custard

Shark infested custard. Shark infested custard is a hula-hoop game we had a team of 5 but you were supposed to have a team of 6. We did very good verbal communication skills to make it to the other end of the court. Planing a strategy before we started helped us a lot because otherwise it would all be over complicated for no reason. Balance was also key other wise we would have of lost. Today I worked not as good with my team today because we were a bit unfocused because of the weather. If we were to do this game again we should have planned better. Today most of us demonstrated fair play and use interpersonal skills mostly properly.

Reflection on the cup game

Cup Game. A few days ago we played a game with cups we had string and a rubber band. It was an interpersonal skills game. We used non-verbal and verbal communication for this activity. We had a group of four and split the table in half and try to figure out how to bring a cup one by one to the other table. Our team was disqualified because one person did not participate but we did brought all the cups over within <20 seconds.

  • Who did you work with that went well today?

  • I worked well with Lauren.

  • If you were to do it again, how would you do it differently?

  • Probably would do more communication and get everyone to help.

  • What level of Helisons behaviour model were you working at in this activity and provide examples of this

  • We worked at level 2 because not everyone was participating but we ended up completing the activity.

Interpersonal skills | Blind drawing in pairs

The IP skill that I used today was effective communication and active listening.

Using this IP skill helped to get the activity done and do it in the best and correct way.

This helped with the activity because you need to communicate to your pair to get it right. Active listening is important to do so you can understand what you need to do properly. Today I worked well with someone an example of when we worked well together was explaining where and what we were supposed to draw was.

If I got to do the activity again, I would ask her to explain where they shapes were supposed to be.

I worked at the fourth level of Hellison's Behaviour Model. Examples of what I did to show that I worked at this level are demonstrating fair and and active listening as well as communication.
