Mother Teresa

1. When she was born, what name was she given?  August 26 1910 and her birth name was Agnes. 

2. At what age did she join the Sisters of Loreto? She joined the Sisters of Loreto at age eighteen. 

3. Explain her calling from God.  She was on a train journey home one day during that train ride she said she was called by god to go and work with the poor and help people. 

4. a. Having won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, why did Mother Teresa turn down the prize winner’s banquet? Because she wanted to give the money to the poor and use it for a helpful reason. 

b. What does this say about her as a person? That she is a kind, genuine person who cared for everyone's needs. 

5. Write down two adjectives to describe Mother Teresa. Selfless and helpful. 

6. Explain the Missionaries of Charity?  She went on a mission to spread the word about her religion and worked at a school to help some of the poor people

7. When did she die?  She died September 5 1977. 

8. How do you think she will be remembered? As a kind, caring and passionate person. 

9. What do you believe was Mother Teresa’s purpose in life? To help everyone mentally and physically and make the world a slightly better caring place where everyone can be cared for.
