Paragraph

In Hurumanu 1 we watched a movie called Hunt For The Wilder People. Our class has been working on how to put a paragraph together properly.  The first task we did wasn't as specific as the one we have done now and the second task is more focused on explain than the last paragraph. We wrote 2 different paragraphs so we can get better and learn to see whats fits and what doesn't. 

My paragraph:

How has Ricky changed during the movie Hunt For The Wilderpeople and why was his change important? Ricky was a young, lonely standoff-ish boy who had no family at the start of the film but then he started to warm up to his new family three quarters through the movie.  The audience feels like an older parent or sibling watching Ricky grow up and change how he acts the film. This change was important because it shows that Ricky isn’t as bad as they make him out to be anymore and people watching may even feel like the way Ricky was and the audience can feel related to someone.The film effects used on the perspective of Ricky’s change throughout the movie were from other people point of view to see Ricky change if we were there in that moment.  My opinion of the film is that the movie ties quite well together and it is interesting. Ricky’s personality was filmed quite well and thought out precisely.

Throughout the sessions of learning how to write paragraphs correctly I learnt they ways to put sentences together in the right way and the sentences link. This has helped my writing because when I write a "story" I can write the right way and do it correctly. My Favourite part of the film study was mainly everything I don't really have a favourite I think the work was reasonably fun to do.

Conflict+Chaos

For the past few weeks we have been doing Conflict and Chaos. We watched Hunt for the Wilder People and had to make a paragraph showing Conflict/Chaos in the movie. This slide helped me in some ways because it was like a plan for the "sexxxy paragraph" and helped me remember what happened and their backstories. 


In Hunt for the Wilder people, Hec and Bella had a conflict because Bella wanted to get Ricky but Hec didn’t so this caused a weird relationship between Hec and Ricky. They didn’t show the conflict at the start but they told the story to make the audience think what this may have looked like/felt like. The director did this to make the film interesting during the forest hunt because they are not getting along 100% of the time, but Hec and Ricky start to get along. The manhunt worked out with Hec and Ricky’s relationship because it showed them starting to get used to the fact that they need each other in the forest. If Ricky and Hec didn’t get along at the start this would have been a boring manhunt.

Heart Dissection / Bio

 Heart Dissection


Today we will be dissecting a sheep heart to identify all the parts of a heart. We will be able to label the hearts parts and see how the heart may work in many ways. We may also see the veins, arteries, septum and atrium ect.

The method we used: We cut down the right hand side first and saw an atrium, ventricle, valves and arteries. Then we cut down the left side. Then through the middle.


What I have learned/ the results from the dissection: I have learned all of the different parts and been able to identify most parts of the heart, left side of the heart is thicker and what the arteries look like.


Dissecting the heart was interesting I have never done that before. It wasn't fun nor disgusting, it was pretty average. It wasn't what I expected the heart was very different then what I had in mind.

Athletics + P.E

 Athletics + P.E


For the  past few weeks we have been practising for athletics by doing sprints, long jump and high jump. This year I did social athletics.  I improved in all of the activities every week because we practised a lot.   Our class has also tried playing touch but first we had to break down the rules and figure out how to play the game. I enjoyed doing all of the activities.
